ABOUT
ÅŒtautahi Speed Skating Club was originally set up as one of the skating sports under the well established ÅŒtautahi Rollers. Since then the club has grown and we are now an independent speed skating club. We also operate and run the Rollerdrome in Hornby. Our speed skating club is relatively new to Christchurch and offers children and adults of all abilities the opportunity to learn to skate in a fun and social environment. Whether you just want the enjoyment of skating, the great fitness it gives you, or the the opportunity to compete at local, national or international level, we offer it all. Speed skating is broken down into 3 elements; road racing, banked track racing and flat track racing (indoors). It can range from 100m time trials right through to marathon racing, not to mention the ever fun relay racing. So, why don't you come along and find out for yourself? You just need your own pair of inline skates, a bike helmet and gloves and we will teach you the rest.
